After configuring the router, the config files are saved by using "copy running-config startup-config" command. when the router is rebooted, instead of giving the hostname> prompt, it goes to initial configuration mode and asks for enter initial config mode y/n ? when no is pressed, it goes to router> prompt and whatever configurations already done are lost.
How to resolve this issue ? Can someone help me?

Show ver will show the current config register in the last line. Try it and see what is is set to. Then go into config mode and enter the global command "config-register 0x2102"; exit and save conf ig then reboot. Your old config may show up after the boot or you may have to put it in again and save it..
