If you cannot configure a synchronised system, then you can configure multiple clock sources on your network as long as they are accurate enough that the clocking on both clocks sources will match.

Is there any way to get this to work whereby , it will ring phones locally attached via pots and also to a remote voip ip phone . I can get either it working at just local phones or just remote phones in the list.

When are Cisco going to make policy maps, class maps qos on 3560 work properly ? This issue has been going on for years, even now the switch cant be trusted as the switch output under mls qos stats shows one thing and wire shark shows the truth. I did request this as an enhancement on cisco.com but have heard nuffin.

Cisco generally sale a product for 5 years and support it for ano ther 5 years after sale. What they dont do is publish when the product first came on the market , so you could then decide your own pathway.

cisco manufactured 15 m x21 cables arent individually screened and so are prone to noise when trying to work at 2 meg. Always had to get them especially made from your favourite cable maker and specify individually screened.

Coz on the 3560 Cisco have never fully implemeted the policy map to show any meaningful output, which when you use a Voip policy to restrict the number of calls on a port is just great. Come in Cisco pull your fingers out, the product isnt new so there is no excuse.

Its all part of the IT myth that you need experience of the latest and greatest technology, over the years it has been the following Timeplex required, x25 required, ATM required, Cisco required, frame required, lan switching required etc etc If you are a capable engineer MPLS will be no great shakes its just buzzwords for recruiters who know jack themselves and like to justfiy thier existance by throwing barriers up to prospective candidates and recruiting managers go along with it.
