Hi all,

I would like to ask some question regarding on the upgrade path for Cisco Catalyst 2960X-48TS-L. I am currently using software version of "15.0(2)EX5" and upgrade to version of "15.2(4)E6" which suggested by Cisco Website on the link given, https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284795739/type/280805680/release/15.2.4E6?catid=268438038

After I perform upgrade on the firmware for Cisco Catalyst 2960X switch, the switch unable to boot up with the error and freeze as shown below.

CPU rev: B
Image passed digital signature verification
Board rev: 5
Testing DataBus...
Testing AddressBus...
Testing Memory from 0x00000000 to 0x1fffffff...\

I had proceed with RMA while I would like to get some advice that can I upgrade my Cisco Catalyst 2960X directly from "15.0(2)EX5" to "15.2(4)E6" directly without any upgrade hop? Is there any upgrade path/version need to proceed before upgrade to version "15.2(4)E6"?

Thank you.

Hi all,

I had resolved this issue by avoiding upgrade to "version 15.2(4)E6" which have some bootloader bugs that cause the switch failed to start. Please do not use "version 15.2(4)E6" and may proceed for "version 15.2(4)E5" or "version 15.2(4)E7" which working good for me.

Thank you.

Looks like similar problem reported before, can you re-cycle the power and see if that fix the issue.

if not connect console and load old IOS using xmodem. ( while waiting for RMA kit come to site).
