I changed out one of my WAN remote routers from a 3640 to a 2514 router. The SNMP was working correctly before the change but since the change the CiscoView icon is red with a ? . I have deleted the icon a couple of times but of course with a rediscovery, it returns with the red icon. It almost appears that the database is mixed up and doesn't know what to do. The SNMP community strings and ip addresses have not changed and I am able to telnet to the router OK. Any ideas?
Thanks

When you move your mouse pointer to the red icon with ?, does it show the correct device model type or just a generic sysObjectID of this device?

It shows up as an unknown device on the red icon. Before I tried deleting the icon for the first time, it showed as it does now, red but listed as the "old" router type. Since deleting the object it has always showed as red and unknown type.

I have got a similar problem in the RSE Inventory. All C1721 devices are known as simple snmp devices; RSE seems not to be able to find out that they are Cisco devices. The problem is then that CW can not log into the C1721 using Telnet. This happens with several IOS versions; so it could be a problem with CW and related to yours.
