I have installed CW SNMS at customer site.
Everything seems to work fine except retrieving configs from devices. whenever i try to fetch a config, i get status "failed". I checked all the necessary attributes via "check device credentials"; they all are o.k.
I'm using TFTP as fetching-protocol.
I have installed cw snms several times and never faced this problem until now.
Does anyone have an idea ? Every hint is very welcome
Thanks in advance
Roman

If you are using tftp, you need need snmp ro and wo strings. CiscoWorks sends a snmp command to the device and it runs the "copy run tftp and copy start tftp" commands to send the configs to the server.

hello,
thanks for your reply. i defined the snmp ro and rw community names as supposed. by checking the device attributes, everything was o.k. so it can't be a problem regarding snmp-definitions.
