class-map/policy-maps

@all...

Can i apply class-map in both inbound/outbound, or is it restricted to outbound only. whereas for policy-map i understand it can be applied either in or out bound... correct me if i am wrong

put in simple words, should the class-map be applied only in outbound only to be effective????

Class-maps are not applied to interfaces. They only classify/identify traffic.

Class-maps go in a Policy-map, which defines your policy, and then a service policy is applied to the interface that applies your policy to the interface in or out.

As for being effective, in or out, it is totally dependant on what you are trying to accomplish.
