compression with lapb

I need to enbale lapb with stack compression.

The ios is 12.2.21 in one side and c1700-bnr2y-mz.122-15.ZL1 in other side.

But when enable compression I got the message is

%COMP-3-VERSIONBAD: Interface Serial0 Compression Version mismatch expected 2 received 8.

is anybody know the reason of that?

Have you enabled compression on both ends ??
