Config needed: Leased line over async PPP

I've run into problems setting this up, using 2 1700s over leased line with the serial ports running async.

The PPP link never comes up.

"Debug ppp neg" shows CONFFEQs but no CONFACKs

Seemingly the CONFACKs are dropped due to an "encapsulation error"

Could someone who has got this working please post their config?

I'm interessted what the "CONFREJ"says in your debug. That should give a clue why the other side is not accepting.

That's just the point. There's no CONFREJ, (or CONFACK)

The router at the other end seemingly never sees the CONFREQ
