I am currently a student studying ccna, we have two cisco 2500 routers, and I wanted to know the correct way to connect and configure these routers for internet access. I will be connecting three workstations to each router.

There is no definitive answer to this question. It depends on many things, not least your ISP and how you are connecting. Leased line, DDR ISDN etc? Are you being dynamically assigned an IP addrsss by the ISP or a static IP address? Are you running a routing protocol or using static default routes?
You should be able to find examples for all these in the Technical support/ Technology Support section on CCO.

We want to use a DSL line as our ISP, but we are also connected through the schools network. We obtain ip addresses from a dhcp server, but If I were only dealing with TCP/IP, a DSL line, and no dhcp server what would be the best solution to create a network with the router, and three workstations, and configure it to connect to the internet.

You better to write more detail & Your Environment.

Hi PRNADADDEE,
Your query is a very peculiar one. From your question I gather that the 2 sets of 3 work stations each are not supposed to communicate directly with each other ( They must be in different subnets). Then you can have a catalyst Switch 1924, configure a VLAN1 on 3 ports of the switch, for the 1st set of 3 work stations and VLAN2 on 3 ports of the Switch for the 2nd set of 3 work stations. Then you configure the trunk port of the Switch to connect to the trunk port of the Router. The ISP's modem will be connected to the serial port of the router.
Or you can connect the serial links of the 2 routers and the ISP modem can be connected to the other serial port of one of the 2 routers. But then you will have to do a NATing of the IP addresses on the rouer's serial links, which is not a feasible solution.
