Hey,
has anybody experience in configuring and visualizing traps with DFM 1.2 ?
Since some days i try to configure dfm 1.2 for receiving and visualizing traps that were sent from a catalyst 3548. The catalyst sends trap, such as traps when i do "sh run" or hurt the port security.
So, now i have the problem that the DFM only shows trap notifications for the "sh run" but not for the port security.
Are there any rule sets or other restrictions for processing traps?
Thanks in advance,
Ben

Hello Ben,
AFAIK, DFM only processes or passes-through a limited scope of traps, and I think port security traps are not among them. Since DFM is not a MIB browser, it queries only certain variables from specific MIBs to conduct its analysis.
Check this link to see which traps are forwarded/passed/through.
Regards,
GP

Dear GP,
thanks for your answer. You are right, DFM only supports a few number of traps :(
Perhaps, Cisco is working on it? There is lots of to do.
