Configuring DLSw using RFC1434

How do I configure IOS 12.2 to ensure that DLSw is only using the RFC1434 standard (not RFC1795 or DLSw+). I have a non-Cisco device at one end of the DLSw tunnel that only supports RFC1434, and a Cisco router running IOS12.2 at the other, but i am unable to get the two devices to talk. The DLSw tunnel works fine if both ends are Cisco devices, but show they are using DLSw+

Thanks

Regards Ian

Unfortunately there is no command on the Cisco to enforce complience with any particular RFC.

As part of capabilities exchange, the IOS should determine whether or not the remote router is a Cisco, and, if not, fall back to the basic DLSW standard otherwise use DLSW PLUS.

What is the other device?

Thanks for the reply,

The other device is a Memorex Telex 1174, 3270 controller, similar to an IBM3174. This only supports the RFC 1434 DLSw standard.
