configuring IP Multicast

Hello Guys,

please help me . I am trying to configure IP Multicast on cat 6509 and 3548xl

the customer have Redundant cat6509 with HRSP configure , on the Etage two cat 3548 redundant connected to Cat 6509 with Gigabit uplink.

the custoer wannt to use ghost for software update

i enable multicast-routing on both cat6509 and ip pim spare-dense-mode on VLANs. I cannot set the command "set multicast router mod/port i don´t know why,

6509_unten> (enable) set multicast router 5/3

Failed to add port 5/3 to multicast router port list.

----------------------------------------------------------------

please could somone help me ? do you have any config Example ?

AF,

I would recommend enabling IGMP snooping (set igmp enable) and let the multicast router ports be dynamically learned. This is the preferred method. Here's a link that shows the multicast configuration guide for the 6500's.

the customer is using GhostCasting. I configure igmp and Pim like in the manuel but cannot have this working.

does some one have any experience with GhostCasting and Switch / Router Network?
