i have a new Cisco 2960x and an existing HP 2910al. I am OK with the set up i interface hp and Cisco all the time with copper but this is the first i have had to with fiber. i know Cisco switch will want a Cisco gbic (can get around that with service unsupported-transceiver) and HP will want an hp Gbic (new Hp OS only works with HP Gbic).
so here is the question, do Cisco Gbic's and Hp Gbic's interconnect? i would assume yes but want to ask before buy and find out they don't.

As long as they are of the same wavelength (like SR to SR or LR to LR) the yes they do.
