Modem state
Modem control state. Although the sample output shows the modem state
Idle, this field should always say READY.

while on the link above suggested that the propper modem state is:
Idle
CTS noDSR DTR RTS
These are the proper modem states for connections between an access server or router and a modem (when there is no incoming call). Output of any other kind generally indicates a problem.
I am confused guys ! any clues ?
