I have about fifty devices that the ANI server is finding and not resolving to a ip address. I check our DNS and reverse lookup and everything is okay. Sometimes I look in the archive and the config file will be in there by hostname and the next time it updates, it will be in there under a ip address of a serial link instead or the loopback or hostname. This is confusing. What ip does the ANI look for to resolve to a hostname? After correcting DNS for devices that are backup up by ip instead of hostname how can I change the archive to show only by hostname and not ip address?
