Dialer profiles not behaving - Help? (config included)

gkaraganis

Level 1

Hi everyone,

Have posted entire config previously but did not manage to get this resolved so I will focus on one dialer for the time being...

Quick description of the solution:

Remote router (BRI) should dial the main HQ router (PRI) and it should initiate a callback. At the moment we cannot even get to the callback as some of the numbers do not seem to be 'picked up' by the opposite router.

Here is a summary of the problem:

When the PRI calls the BRI when I issue "show caller xxx":

the PRI side can see the remote number but cannot see the local number

and

the BRI side can see the remote number and the local number

When the PRI is called by the BRI :

the PRI side cannot see the remote number but it can see the local number

and

the BRI side can see the remote number but not the local number.

Any ideas would be deeply appreciated,

TIA,

G.:

PS. only included the 2 dialers as the rest follow the same patterns...

The config is for CallerID callback over isdn line. So when bri router call the PRI router (HQ), the isdn SETUP message should include "CallerID" information as "16201234567891" to get the call called back by PRI router because of command "dialer caller 16201234567891 callback".

So issue "debug isdn q931" on PRI/HQ router and see that it receives the callerID when the call comes in or not. If the callerID is not delivered, you need to talk to telco (Pri Provider) to enable the CallerID for the isdn calls.

Thanks for that.

I have checked the "debug isdn q931" and it does receive the callerID when the call comes in...

Thats where I got stuck I think...

Any other ideas? (are we 100% that the IOS config is correct?)

In that case we need to see the debug for following when the PRI router receive the call from BRI router.

debug isdn q931

debug ppp nego

debug ppp cbcp

debug callback

debug dialer

Here is the url which has a similar config with troubleshooting.
