Difference between Physical memory & processor Memory

Hi Genius,

            Can anyone help me the difference between Physical memory & processor Memory.

HI there,

I'll take a punt. Physical Memory would be "Main memory" ie RAM.

Processor Memory would be the CPU Cache, ie L1 and L2 caches.

Often they are one in the same.

"Physical memory" is generally used to denote some form of RAM. This in contrast to "virtual memory"which is memory usually backed by some form of on-line storage.

"Processor memory", in Cisco context, I believe is physical memory allocated for CPU process usage (this in contrast to IO memory which is physical memory allocated to IO buffers).
