DSL config without dialer ? to notice Link down

Is it possible to make a DSL configuration (where you normally would use a dialer interface) ?

Reason: We would like to trigger a isdn call, when the DSL link goes down.

So I prefer monitoring the Atm interface with a "standby" command.

Is this possible ?

It depends on the line configuration for dsl line..For PPP related line like PPPoA and PPPoE you do need dialer interface as it supports "encap ppp" command...For RFC 1483 bridging or RBE line you can get away with atm interface config only..

Backing up dsl line using "dialer interface" is always a tricky, you need to use "floating static route"..Just a thought..Tejal
