Encryption between Layer 3 switches

We have a requirement to terminate Fiber Link between two remote location which are in range of 15Kile Meter. Currently in both the location we are having 3550 series switches with Gigaports free. What we wanted to do is to implement site-to-site encryption (VPN) between these two point.

My question is :

Which 3550 switch software supports 3DES for site-to-site encryption. or any other alternative.

We have also 6509 switch in one location which is having free gigabit ports.

the 3550 does not support any DES or encryption.

Check the Security section of the 3550 Data Sheet for security features which can be used as an alternative (e.g. ACL or private VLANs):
