I currently have a 4510 that is continuously running ESMP events and was wondering how do I turn it off. My best guess is that the redundancy feature is using ESMP to look for a second supervisor blade, but there is only a single supervisor blade in the unit. There appears to be no way to remove the redundancy feature from the config's and I don't have a second supervisor card to put into the unit to test this theory.

ESMP is used as keepalive for all cards in the chassis. Can you attach outputs of following commands
sh mod
sh proc cpu
sh platform health
show platform cpu packet statistics

What you are seeing is normal
CPU utilization for five seconds: 3%/0%; one minute: 4%; five minutes: 5%
PID Runtime(ms) Invoked uSecs 5Sec 1Min 5Min TTY Process
