Extended traceroute

Need some advice on the extended traceroute. "Port Number" field is the destination port used by the UDP probe messages as described in cisco.com. But when I did a extended traceroute with the port number set at 1 and at the destination, I had debugging turned on, I captured the below results. Noticed that the destination port number was incremented for every probe count. Is this how the "Port Number" field is supposed to work?

UDP: rcvd src=10.10.10.1(37202), dst=20.20.20.10(1), length=8

UDP: rcvd src=10.10.10.1(39755), dst=20.20.20.10(2), length=8

UDP: rcvd src=10.10.10.1(39844), dst=20.20.20.10(3), length=8

This is standard traceroute behavior. Apparently the port number field just determines which port the traceroute starts at.
