Factory resetting a 1721 router

A bad config register value was put on a 1721 in error. Now I can gain no console access to the router via hyperterminal, whatever the settings. Is there a factory/hardware reset I can do ?

Try this and let me know if it works

Power cycle the router and hit both of these

keys together as the router is reloading. (ctrl + break/pause) This will allow you to make the

router boot into Rommon mode. Repeat the process as many times as possible until the router lands in

this mode here:

rommon>reset
