I need to upgrade my flash to 32MB. The Cisco flash card is no longer available so I bought a third party PCMCIA flash card. I'm using the 'format slot1:' command and get this error:
%Error formatting slot1 (Unspecified error)
Any ideas?
Thanks as always,
Patrick

Dont know if you have tried variants such as format disk1:. Also make sure you have inserted the card into slot 1 and not 0.

I think I figured it out. The ATA Flash is referenced by using disk0: instead ot slot0:. I also learned that the ATA flash cards on not bootable when used with a RSP4. I am ordering some older linear flash cards in the morning.
Thanks,
Patrick

Patrick,
I recently had a similar issue with 7200 and ATA flash cards.
This additionally explains what you were experiencing.

Thanks. I recieved two new 32MB linear flash cards and was able to get them working. The ATA type of flash cards were not the right ones.
