Getting "Bad Flash Magic Number" after IOS Transfer

Cisco 1720 router

Trying diseaster recovery testing. I'm using "Xmodem Console Download Procedure Using ROMmon".

After the image transfers (xmodem –c c1700-y-mz.123-6a.bin)when the download is complete I'm getting the following error. (see error1.gif) However, when I reset the router the image loads fine & after the router boots I see the image (see error2.gif)

What would cause error1 ? If this normal ?

The rommon version on the 1720 is not correctly calculating the checksum. If you leave out the -c amd just use xmodem c1700-y-mz.123-6a.bin, the error should not occur.
