Hi
While attempting to connect cat 6509 & 6513 via L2 Port channel 201, i encountered the following error messages.
Oct 14 23:53:49: %SPANTREE-SP-2-RECV_PVID_ERR: Received BPDU with inconsistent peer vlan id 347 on Port-channel201 VLAN351.
Oct 14 23:53:49: %SPANTREE-SP-2-BLOCK_PVID_LOCAL: Blocking Port-channel201 on VLAN0351. Inconsistent local vlan.
Oct 14 23:54:04: %SPANTREE-SP-2-UNBLOCK_CONSIST_PORT: Unblocking Port-channel201 on VLAN0351. Port consistency restored.
Oct 15 00:51:16: %SPANTREE-SP-2-RECV_PVID_ERR: Received BPDU with inconsistent peer vlan id 411 on Port-channel201 VLAN415.
Oct 15 00:51:16: %SPANTREE-SP-2-BLOCK_PVID_PEER: Blocking Port-channel201 on VLAN0411. Inconsistent peer vlan.
Oct 15 00:51:16: %SPANTREE-SP-2-BLOCK_PVID_LOCAL: Blocking Port-channel201 on VLAN0415. Inconsistent local vlan.
Oct 15 00:51:31: %SPANTREE-SP-2-UNBLOCK_CONSIST_PORT: Unblocking Port-channel201 on VLAN0411. Port consistency restored.
Oct 15 00:51:31: %SPANTREE-SP-2-UNBLOCK_CONSIST_PORT: Unblocking Port-channel201 on VLAN0415. Port consistency restored.
Below my setup details:
Distribution Switch - Cat65009 with Sup720 IOS 12.2(17a)SX3 on slot 5
Edge Switch - Cat6513 with Sup720 12.2(17d)SX B4 on slot 7
Same Native VLAN on both switches set to vlan 1
The above message is seen on the Cat6513, whereas cat6509 hv no other error message at all.
It occurs at an interval of 1 hr average and to random vlans.
Based on the Cisco documentation, the cause of the error is due to inconsistent native vlan set on both ends. But this has been verified, could this symptoms due to a hardware, IOS bug or misconfigurations.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you checked that all the required parameters are consistent across all desired ports?

Is this a channel with several links? If so, then the native VLAN is incorrect on one of the links.
Check the members of the channel on both switches; there may be ports in the channel you did not know were there. Check your cabling connects only members of this channel on switch A to members of this channel on switch B, that there are no other stray ports included on one side.
If your channels are formed dynamically, do a debug to check the channel is stable. Even better, nail it down.
