Hi router CPU utilisaton during ftp download

We have two locations connected through a 2Mpbs IPLC Line and we are using Cisco 3640 routers on both the ends. When we are doing a ftp download/upload the cpu utilization on the router shoot to 100%. Other Data, Voice and Video Traffic does not utilizes much of cpu, but when we start a ftp the cpu shoots to 100%. Is there any thing that can be done to reduce the cpu utilization.

The following tool would be useful in determining the cause of the high CPU utilization experienced. Copy and paste the output from [show proc cpu] captured at the spike during ftp traffic flow.
