how can l get into Rommon mode first

Hi,

I erased the IOS in my router 2620XM and am now receiving error messages like all sorts of funny alphabets. How can l get into rommon first  to reinstall the IOS back. This is because it is not allowing me to do anything. If l press any key on the key board all l see is just funny characters the screen. Can l get any professional help pls.

Change terminal speed until you get readable output. Then proceed from there.
