how to enable udp and tcp broadcast on 3750 switch ?

Hi all,

I have a customer who is having a WS-C3750-24TS-S switch. He needs to enable udp and tcp broadcast with in a single vlan.Customers 15 machines with in a Vlan sends udp/tcp broadcast in evry 5 seconds for validatin. How can I do this. Can anybody help ?.

Hi,

By default, any broadcast or multicast packets are forwarded to all ports in single VLAN.

If your requirement is the above one, then there is no need for explicit configuration.

Thanks, The customer enabled ip routing on that switch, They have video server and 7 clients connected to that switch , these clients communicate with server using udp port 4040.These setup is not working now. When we conatced the Aplication peoples they told us to enable udp/tcp broadcast on that switch. If we connect this server and clients to a layer 2 switch, its working fine. Please advice.

You can use the command ip forward-protocol udp 4040 to forward udp port 4040 and if that is what your multicast application is looking for.
