How to make Switch/Router as NTP Server?

Hi,

is there a possibility of making a Switch/Router to act as NTP server?

i have got Switches - 6509,3750,3550,2960,2950

Routers - 1700,2500,2600 Series.

Hi, I believe you can with the command 'ntp master' command. Here is the command reference. In your case, I would do this on the 6509.

ntp master

To configure the Cisco IOS software as a Network Time Protocol (NTP) master clock to which peers synchronize themselves when an external NTP source is not available, use the ntp master global configuration command. To disable the master clock function, use the no form of this command.

ntp master [stratum]

no ntp master [stratum]
