I have HSRP configuration in Catalyst 6513. For any VLAN interface we have configured 3 IP addresses: one for active router, one for standby router and another one virtual IP address.
I dont have a DHCP policy for entire whole network.
One workstation configured with one of those logical address can put down the layer 3 switching.(HSRP config.)
Anyone know whats going on with this equipment with full redundancy features?

Hi calin
Your title contains duplicate address. from its I an believing that you are getting duplicate address in your log. If it is there then it shows STP loop in campus. So find out where it is happening ? If not then describe your problem in details. also pate your log.
All the best

Yes. Duplicate address in a network with or without HSRP can cause meltdowns. The network administrator will have to make sure there is no conflict in IP addressing
