ntp update-calendar

In High end routers (switches also) they have a h/w clock chip which gets updated via NTP periodically using this command.

ntp source Port-channel1

This specifies the source ip of Port-channel1 for all NTP packets

ntp server 192.168.1.2

This command specifies who the NTP server is (Server with IP 192.168.1.2)

ntp clock-period <>

schedule allocate has nothing to do with NTP. Check this link for more details
