Hi,

I've just installed a new gigabit LAN.

And now the customer want to have some visual confirmation that his LAN is quicker.

Is there a way I pump some data trough the LAN and measure the bandwith, speed etc. .. .

So he can see the difference between his old LAN and his new gigaLAN ??

thx

The Lan is only going to be as fast as its slowest link , If you have 10 meg Nic's then it will operate at 10 meg , if they are 100 meg then 100 meg , You can use a tool like ttcp to show the approx throughput, I hope you captured some benchmarks prior to the upgrade.

Look at this URL for TTCP

any other tools out there that can do the job.

Didn't capture anything.

The customer complained that the network was slow, so our sales ppl just sold them a bunch of gigabit network cards for his server (2 per server) and three catalyst 3750 for stacking, so he'll have a redundant LAN for his servers.
