ISDN on a Alcatel Switch - No Layer 1

Hi

I have 2 Cisco 803 routers, when I connect them to our college Alcatel PABX, I cannot get a TEI. When I type show isdn status, all I get is Layer 1 - Deactivated! (the same when I use a 1721 Router... Deactivated)

If I connect my Cisco 2503 to the same ISDN port, the switch assigns me a TEI number.

Any ideas what is wrong? I am pointing to the Alcatel switch. I have tested all routers via a BT ISDN line and everything works...

Any ISDN Guru's out there?

Regards

Danny

If the config (hardwar and software) is same on all the routers. If it works on 2500, No reason for not to work on 1721 and 803. Make sure that you have BRI-U iand not S/T interface on 803 and 1700 too.

Here is the preety good url for "troubleshooting LAYER 1 on isdn bri line"
