Hi there, The 3550 switch series and above are layer 3, yours is only a layer 2.

Hi,

THere is only switch i know in the 2900 series which has L3 capabilities i.e the 2948GL3 ( it is discontinued though i suppose)

All other 2900 series are layer 2 switches including the new 2960 series.

THe LAyer 3 capable switches are 3550,3560,3750,4000,4500 & the 6500 series switches
