Link between Cat 4006 and 3500 XL can't UP

Anybody have seen the following problem:

I have a Catalyst 4006 and a Catalyst 3500 Xl.

When i try to connect a 3500 with a Fiber optic Patch cord to the 4006 Fiber Supervisor Port the link never come up. But if i connect the fiber between the 3500 Xl and another 3500 Xl the link comes up.

Which could be the problem??

Can you paste the config from the relevant interface(sh interface gig x/y) and sh interface gig x/y outputs

What is the ios on the Cat 4006, Iam having the same problem with a 6513.
