Low memory on 1750 router

My 1750 router, with IOS 12.1(3)XT1 IOS complains of low memory. A dump of the show memory in output interpreter says the processor memory is high. After some time, the router hangs and stop functioning. My problem is that I'm not sure what to do, increase the memory or what, or is a bug in the IOS. Help is needed urgently.

What routing protocol are you using?

Most 1750s are deployed at a remote site.

maybe you could use a static route.

Are you using VPN?

Do not think it is a problemof routing protocol, because the router gives the same problem even when not connected to circuit. I do not have any VPN configured, though I have VOIP configured. If I restart the router, it complains that it cannot add dial peers because of no memory. I'm still wondering what could be wrong.

Have you performed 'sh process mem' or 'sh process cpu' ?

Try them with router not connected and check if there is any task which is using too much memory or cpu.
