I have two heavily populated VLANs (around 800 - 1000 users each. Since these numbers grew from around 250 each, I have noticed massive problems with both the CPU utilization of our RSM (that performs the routing between VLANs) and in the amount of traffic generated on these two interfaces (dropped packets, broadcast storms and throttles). Can anybody tell me if the number of devices on each VLAN is causing these problems?
