MCast intergrating MSDP and BRS

Hi,

I have an existing multicast infrastructure that is based around BSR, the existing multicast domain connects to other networks and would be difficult to reconfigure.

I'm planning to create some seperate multicast domains that will be based around using MSDP for interdomain comminucation. I know this is not an ideal situation, but I'd like the MSDP world to exchange group information with the BSR world.

Is it possible to configure one router to host MSDP and to also use BSR to act as a gateway between the two types of protocol?

or is there another way?

Thanks for any help.

Dave

To the best of my knowledge , On downstream routers:

1. Enable multicast routing and Configure PIM-SM ,

2. If no MSDP internally, must utilize single RP or logical-rp and MSDP mesh group,

3. Configure RP as a Static or dynamic (BSR)
