Measuring Bandwidth from within a Cisco Router

I have several VPN connections with 1721 routers that use either ISP provided dedicated Internet connections or xDSL connections. Is there any way to measure or test the bandwidth of the ISP provided connection from within the router itself? I want to verify that the speed of the connection matches what the ISP says they are providing. I know this can be done with external tools, but is there any way to do it within the router? Even if it has to be calculated some how.

Thanks in advance!

Some (all?) Cisco routers include TTCP: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk801/tk36/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094694.shtml

You need to have a device on the other end, however, to run the bandwidth test with.

Sounds like an useful tool. Unfortunately, none of my routers include TTCP. If they did, that would be what I am looking for to perform testing. I want to do the testing from the routers since there is not always an available PC at the remote locations.

Thanks!

I think you can only find TTCP in Enterprise IOS.
