hi amit
i personally appreciate ur input, just a thought , i tried trunking between 2 cisco 2950s with a media converter in between , it didnt work out, i mean , is it a must to have a converter with trunk functionality for the links to work and have trnking , as a converter is just a passive device which connects two ports, the links come up, but no trunking, any specific config i need to make in order to achive trunking with a converter in between with no trunk features on the converter itself.
lastly can i have ur email id, just in case if i need more queries.

Hi,
You dont need any special config when you are doing trunking via media converter. As you mentioned the link was up did you try pining from either side of the link. What was the Spanning tree state of the link. I have come accross and set a lot of trunking with media convetter without any special config.
Paste the configs here and aslo the model number of the media converter used. Did you speak with the media converter support.

That's true if the media converter is just passing the packets and not doing anything at all? Have you guys had any luck. We are doing some testing and seeing spanning tree fail. Can anyone shed some light? The media coverters are from omnitron systems?
