We have recently installed two cisco4507s with the following IOS: cat4000-I5K91S-M, Version 12.2(20)EW.
When we do a MIB walk there doesn't appear to be an ifindex.1, it starts at ifindex.2. This means that one of our management machines fails to discover the device correctly as it falls over when it can't find ifindex.1. We already had four other 4507s which don't have this problem although they are running an earlier version of IOS. Can anyone explain why ifindex.1 is missing and if possible how to create it.
