i've had two different problems with two different modems.
i have a computer at home - XP home - with an internal modem (Conexant ...) came from Dell all installed.
this modem will connect to one router, it displays the username prompt and it stays connected.
Then i call severl other routers, that will connectly properly from my laptop modem, that will connect but display nothing.
so, i conencted an external Hayes, using the "standard 14.4' driver. This will connect to all the routers that will not display anything when i use the internal modem, but, after 16 seconds the connection drops.
i need eithe the internal or this external working since i can't keep the laptop at home.

also, i'm using the free Hyperterminal upgrade program (PRivate Edition 6.3).
