Last week MRTG began failing on four of six 3640's following IOS update from ver 12.3(1a) to 12.3(4)T2. After MRTG launches on each, I get the following error:
Received SNMP response with error code

SNMPv1_Session <remote host...info all correct...

All six units were upgraded the same way. Why would four of the six fail? Would upgrading to the latest ver of MRTG help? Appreciate any advice.

After the IOS upgrade and reboot of the devices, the ifIndex may changed (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080134eec.shtml), which you need to check and update the MRTG cfg file accordingly.

Good call! In addition to the IOS upgrade, new interface card added which changed index numbers. Thank you.
