The Cisco 7206 rotuer is configured as LNS and is used to replicate multicast stream to each of its connected PPP sessions. Is there any dimensioning rules based on the number of connected sessions and packet rate of multicast stream ?
As far as I know, LNS with an NPE-300 will run at about 85% CPU when forwarding between about 70,000 pps. And LNS with NPE-G1 can sustain about 850 sessions joining a single multicast group with CPU at 98%.
