multicast config problem

Scenario:

I have a router that is configured for multicast (pim sparse mode). Behind this router is a host that does not understand multicasts, only uni and broadcasts.

Question:

How do I configure the router so that the host can join the multicast group?

Thanks, Meg

If the device doesn't understand multicast, then you'll need some kind of conversion upstream.

Is it possible that the transitting device does "smallcasting" (unicast) ala the Cisco IPTV?

Can it be done with DVMRP?

Pls try ' ip multicast helper-map ......', look into the URL for details.
