I set the ip address on the NAM and started the http server. When I type the ip add. in my web browser nothing happens, it can not connect.

What is the http port that you setup from the NAM CLI?. Can you ping the NAM's ip address from outside?. Is this NAM installed in an IOS running Cat6K or CatOS?.

Default port 80. I can not ping the address that I set up. This is on the inside of a private network on a 6513 switch.

From the switch, can you ping the NAM's ip address?. From the NAM CLI can you ping the default gateway configured?. Is the 6513 running IOS?

from the switch cli I can not ping the nam. From the nam cli I can not ping the gateway. The 6513 is running IOS.

OK then that is the reason you cannot access it from http either. Is this a NAM-1/NAM-2?. If so, then since the 6513 is running IOS, you must configure a VLAN as the NAM management port. This need to be configured on the switch itself and not on the NAM CLI. To select a VLAN for management, enter the configuration mode for the NAM and enter the following:
Switch(config)# analysis module slot_number management-port access-vlan vlan_number

It is a nam-1.
Switch(config)# analysis module slot_number management-port access-vlan vlan_number
at the cli for the switch I would type config t
then in config mode type analysis module slot_5 management-port access-vlan 1
That is if I want to analyze vlan 1?

No, this has nothing to do with analyzing VLAN 1. This is just to setup a VLAN for the NAM mamgement port. Without this, there will be no ip connectivity to/from the NAM.

Ok here is where we stand...
By the way thanks so much for all your help!

Are you still not able to ping?. If so, then you may be using the wrong vlan above?
