We are planning to set up an ethernet network for our office. The primary network traffic consists of connections to the SAP server, Lotus Notes server and a few Intranet servers located centrally in the "IT Building". In the 4 LAN segments that we have, we are planning to provide unmanaged Layer2 switches for the user connections, and a 2970G-24TS-E switch as the uplink switch to the 3750G-24TS-E Layer3 IP Switch, which is located in the "IT Building". The Port connections of the 2970G-24TS-E in one of the LAN segment is as given below :
Port 1 -- 100Mbps -- Linksys EF3124 - (subnet 10.1.2.0, VLAN2) -- 8 users
Port 2 -- 100Mbps -- Linksys EF3116 - (subnet 10.1.2.0, VLAN2) -- 7 users
Port 3 -- 100Mbps -- Linksys EF3116 - (subnet 10.1.2.0, VLAN2) -- 4 users
Port 4 -- 100Mbps -- Linksys EF3116 - (subnet 10.1.2.0, VLAN2) -- 3 users
Port 5 -- 100Mbps -- Linksys EF3124 - (subnet 10.1.2.0, VLAN2) -- 10 users
Port 6 -- 100Mbps -- Linksys EF3124 - (subnet 10.1.2.0, VLAN2) -- 10 users
Port 7 -- 100Mbps -- Linksys EF3124 - (subnet 10.1.6.0, VLAN6) -- 10 users
Port 8 -- 1000Mbps -- Linksys SR2024, 3 nos stackable - (subnet 10.1.6.0, VLAN6) -- 40 users
The connection to the 3750G layer3 IP switch, located in the "IT Building", will be via dual redundant 1000 Mbps uplinks.
I need some comments on the setup as I am new to Cisco networking.
regards,
