Nothing displays before it says "Press RETURN to get started" -2500-

I am trying to get into ROM mode into this 2500 router but there is not display of anything and then shows the message "Press RETURN to get started" all of the boot up information from boot loader is not displayed.

I send the ctrl-break but nothing happens

Has anyone face anything like it?

Disregard the question.

I unplugged the power cable and let it setting all night. Still did not work, then I changed it from a power outlet and it worked. Go figure. Not related to baud rate or anything like that. real strange
