NTP Synchroniztion config -- help

Hi,

I would like to configure NTP on my network to sychronize all my CCM, router, switches, servers and workstations.

I had been thinking about using my Gateway to acomplish this task. It will be the NTP server pointing to an external source and everybody else will synchronize from there. I do have a couple of questions:

1. Do I need to configure QoS? I have read a couple of documents where they specify that.

2. Would the synchronization affect my telephony network?

3. Any suggestions and feedback.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi

1. I wouldn't - NTP will sync up fine without.

2. Nope - NTP is seperate to clocking on PRIs etc, so that won't be affected. The time on your IP phones etc. will of course be changed/more accurate...

3. Have a read through this:

Aaron
