Hello all, I am wondering is there any way to use smart licensing offline i mean without connecting the device (switch, router, etc...) to internet?
I have a catalyst 3850-48T-E, the default IOS was 3.6.8, I upgraded to IOS Fuji-16.09.04, suddenly i realize the license (IP Service) went to evaluation mode and it will expire in 90 days.

here is good document for CSSM Satellite :
But if you have access to the internet - i prefer to go to smart port and register - rather adding more resource onsite VM.
(until you have many 1000+ devices to register)

Smart licensing is a massive pain in the A and clearly not in the customer's interest.
Rant over...
I actually filed a TAC case for this exact issue. Although under 16.9.4 the switch will continually "moan" about the license there is no enforcement in 16.9.4 for the cat3000 range. So after the timer expires it will just continue to function as normal.

Hi
what i came to know from CISCO TAC team that upto IOS 16.9.x traditional license is supported & from 16.10.x only smart licensing is supported, but in your case you are on 16.9.x so try importing license again , if you run into some issue , kindly take help of CISCO TAC which should 100% solve your issue.
